BOOKING CONDITIONS

1. Cottages at 'La Richardiere' are offered for holiday rentals subject to the following conditions and confirmation by Russell or Susan Howlett.

2. To reserve a cottage, guests must complete and sign the booking form and return it together with payment (in Euros) of the initial, non-refundable deposit. Following receipt of these, we will send a confirmation invoice, as formal acceptance of the holiday booking.

3. The balance of the holiday fee together with the damage deposit (see clause4) is payable not less than 9 weeks prior to the commencement of the holiday period. If payment is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to give notice in writing that the reservation is cancelled. Guests will remain liable to pay the full balance of the holiday fee unless we are able to re-let the property. In this event, clause 5 will apply. Bookings made within 9 weeks of the commencement of the holiday require full payment at the time of booking.

4. A damage deposit of € 200.00 is required in case of, for example, damage to the property or its contents. However, the sum reserved by this clause shall not limit the guest's liability to us. We will deduct any appropriate charges from the damage deposit, should it be necessary and refund the balance within 10 working days of the end of the rental period.

5. Subject to clauses 2 & 3, in the event of cancellation, refunds of amounts paid will be made only if we are able to re let the property and any expenses and or losses incurred will be deducted from the refundable amount. We strongly recommend that guests take out a comprehensive travel insurance policy (including cancellation cover) to cover personal injury, personal belongings, public liability etc, since these are not covered by our insurance nor required to be by French law.

6. The holiday period shall commence at 4pm on the first day and finish at10 am on the last day of the reserved holiday period. We shall not be obliged to provide accommodation outside of these dates and times.

7. Additional put-u-up beds, cots and high chairs must be requested at the time of booking and indicated on the booking form. We do not supply bedding for cots.

8. The maximum occupancy of the cottages is not to exceed the numbers stated on the booking form, unless agreed by ourselves prior to the start of the holiday.

9. (a) Guests agree to act in such a way as not to cause nuisance or disturbance to other guests. (b) Guests agree to take good care of the cottage, its contents and any leisure equipment i.e.:- bicycles, table tennis equipment Etc, and leave it in a clean & tidy condition. We reserve the right to make retention from the damage deposit for additional cleaning costs if guests leave the cottage in an unacceptable condition.

10. We shall not be liable to our guests for:-
(a) Any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of public services to the property, nor in respect of any equipment, plant, machinery or appliance in the property, garden or the swimming pool.
(b) Any loss, damage or injury to persons or their property howsoever caused.
(c) Any loss or inconvenience caused to or suffered by a guest or guests if the property shall be destroyed or damaged necessitating cancellation prior to the start of the rental period and, in any such event, we shall within 14 days of notification to our guests refund all monies previously paid in respect of the holiday.
(d) Under no circumstances shall our liability to guests exceed the amount paid for the holiday period.

This contract shall be governd by French law in every particular including formation and interpretation and shall be deemed to be made in France. Any proceedings arising out of or in connection with this contract may be brought in any court of competent jurisdiction in France.
